FAIRFAX, Va., July 2025 — Fairfax Radiology announced that Jaspreet Hira, MD, an abdominal and body imaging subspecialist, has joined the practice’s Body Imaging team. Dr. Hira brings extensive experience in abdominal imaging, breast imaging, and advanced multimodality diagnostic interpretation.
Dr. Hira joined Fairfax Radiology after serving as a diagnostic radiologist with Medical Center Radiologists in Norfolk, Va. She completed an Abdominal Imaging Fellowship at the University of Virginia Health System, where she contributed to research involving surveillance imaging with contrast-enhanced ultrasound. Prior to fellowship, she completed a Diagnostic Radiology Residency at the University of North Carolina Hospitals, supplemented by a breast imaging mini-fellowship.
Her training also includes an internal medicine preliminary year at Mount Sinai St. Luke’s and West in New York and a Doctor of Medicine degree from the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine. Dr. Hira earned her bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Virginia.
Dr. Hira has authored peer-reviewed publications and presented research on abdominal imaging, breast cancer genetics, gynecologic imaging, and cellular biology at national meetings including RSNA and SABI. Her academic work spans topics such as endometriosis imaging, ovarian torsion, and multimodality endoleak evaluation.

In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Hira has served as a faculty lecturer and mentor for medical students and radiology residents, offering instruction in abdominal CT, pelvic ultrasound, head CT, solitary pulmonary nodules, and more.
Dr. Hira is board certified by the American Board of Radiology and has been recognized with the Clinical Excellence Award from the University of North Carolina Hospitals and a Letter of Distinction in Internal Medicine from the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine.
