FAIRFAX, Va., August 2026 — Fairfax Radiology Centers (FRC), the region’s largest and most experienced radiology practice, is pleased to announce that Jonathan D. Shein, MD, has joined the practice’s Pediatric Imaging team. Dr. Shein brings specialized fellowship training in pediatric radiology, a strong background in pediatric medicine and a commitment to advancing care for children and their families.
Dr. Shein completed his Pediatric Radiology Fellowship at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), following a four-year Diagnostic Radiology Residency at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City. He also completed a preliminary residency in Pediatrics at the University of North Carolina Hospitals, providing him with additional clinical experience caring for children and a strong foundation in pediatric medicine.

Dr. Shein earned his Doctor of Medicine from the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences in Washington, D.C., where he developed an early interest in medical imaging. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, magna cum laude, from Colgate University.
Throughout his medical training, Dr. Shein has been actively involved in research and academic presentations. His work has included educational exhibits featuring the pediatric elbow, as well as research examining the effects of immune checkpoint inhibitors on the lungs. His research has also been published in peer-reviewed journals, including work examining kidney fibrosis.

Dr. Shein is a member of the American College of Radiology, Society for Pediatric Radiology and American Roentgen Ray Society. Outside of medicine, he enjoys tennis, photography, travel and spending time with his wife and dog.
