FAIRFAX, Va., July 2026 — Fairfax Radiology Centers (FRC), the region’s largest and most experienced radiology practice, is pleased to welcome Saumik Zuhayr Rahman, M.D., to its team as a Neuroradiology specialist. Dr. Rahman brings advanced fellowship training from Yale New Haven Hospital, extensive experience in neuroimaging and a strong record of clinical research, academic presentations and physician leadership.
Dr. Rahman completed his Neuroradiology Fellowship at Yale New Haven Hospital, where he served as Chief Fellow, following his Diagnostic Radiology residency at the same institution. He completed his Internal Medicine internship at Yale New Haven Hospital and earned his medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine, where he was recognized as a Population Health Scholar. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Management and Policy from Georgetown University School of Nursing and Health Sciences, graduating magna cum laude.

Throughout his training, Dr. Rahman has been actively involved in clinical research, with work spanning neuroradiology, interventional radiology, vascular imaging and patient safety. His research has been published in peer-reviewed journals, including Radiology, Journal of Vascular and Interventional Radiology and Radiology Case Reports. He has presented research and educational exhibits at national and international meetings, including the Radiological Society of North America, American Roentgen Ray Society, European Society of Radiology and Society of Interventional Radiology.
Dr. Rahman’s academic work has included research on neurovascular conditions, traumatic vascular injuries, magnetic resonance neurovascular perfusion imaging, neuroinflammatory disorders and other complex neurological conditions. He has also conducted research examining radiation exposure and outcomes associated with image-guided procedures.

In addition to his clinical and research work, Dr. Rahman has demonstrated a strong commitment to leadership and medical education. He served as Chief Fellow during his Neuroradiology fellowship and has held leadership roles in resident and medical student organizations. His contributions have been recognized with several honors, including the Faculty Choice for Resident Leadership Award, Resident Wellness Advocate of the Year Award and multiple Resident’s Resident Awards during his radiology training.
At FRC, Dr. Rahman will provide specialized neuroradiology services, using advanced imaging to help diagnose and evaluate conditions affecting the brain, spine, head and neck. His clinical expertise and academic background further enhance FRC’s commitment to providing comprehensive, subspecialized imaging care to patients and referring physicians throughout the region.
Dr. Rahman is a member of the American Society of Neuroradiology, American College of Radiology, Radiological Society of North America, American Roentgen Ray Society and American Medical Association.
