FAIRFAX, Va., July 2026 — Fairfax Radiology Centers (FRC), the region’s largest and most experienced radiology practice, is pleased to welcome Eric K. van Staalduinen, D.O., to its team of specialty-trained radiologists. Dr. van Staalduinen brings extensive subspecialty expertise in neuroradiology, along with a distinguished academic and research background.
Dr. van Staalduinen most recently served as Clinical Assistant Professor in Neuroradiology at Stanford University. He completed his Diagnostic Neuroradiology Fellowship at Stanford, where he served as Chief Fellow and Clinical Scholar. He completed his Diagnostic Radiology residency at Stony Brook University Hospital, where he served as Chief Resident, and earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine. He is board certified in Diagnostic Radiology and holds a Certificate of Added Qualification in Neuroradiology from the American Board of Radiology.
His clinical and academic interests include advanced structural and functional neuroimaging, with applications in precision mental health assessment, epilepsy, stroke, functional neuroimaging, and artificial intelligence. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and book chapters and has presented his research at national meetings, including the American Society of Neuroradiology.

Dr. van Staalduinen has also remained actively involved in medical education, supervising residents and fellows and lecturing on neuroradiology and advanced imaging topics. His research has included work involving Alzheimer’s disease, epilepsy, brain connectivity, stroke, and functional neurosurgical planning.
At FRC, Dr. van Staalduinen will provide specialized neuroradiology services, bringing advanced expertise in imaging of the brain, spine and nervous system to patients throughout the region.
