FAIRFAX, Va., August 2026 — Fairfax Radiology Centers (FRC), the region’s largest and most experienced radiology practice, is pleased to announce that Eric R. Chung, M.D., has joined its team of Vascular and Interventional Radiologists. Dr. Chung brings specialized fellowship training in vascular and interventional radiology, extensive research experience and a strong commitment to providing minimally invasive treatment options for patients throughout Northern Virginia.
Dr. Chung completed a fellowship in Vascular and Interventional Radiology at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C. He completed his Diagnostic Radiology residency through George Washington University Hospital, where he trained in the Early Specialization in Interventional Radiology (ESIR) pathway. He also completed a transitional year at University of Miami/Holy Cross Hospital in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Dr. Chung earned his Doctor of Medicine from Florida International University Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine. He also holds a Master of Science in Medical Sciences from Boston University and a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience from the University of Rochester.
His academic and research background spans multiple areas of medicine. During his graduate training, Dr. Chung conducted research in pediatric anesthesia at Boston Children’s Hospital, where his work included data collection, statistical analysis and literature research. He has also conducted research in reproductive medicine and neuroscience, including work focused on Alzheimer’s disease and associated memory disorders.
Dr. Chung has authored or co-authored multiple peer-reviewed publications and presented research at national medical conferences. His professional interests include interventional radiology, chronic venous disease, musculoskeletal and pain interventions, fibroid embolization and minimally invasive procedures. He has remained actively involved in professional organizations including the Society of Interventional Radiology and the American College of Radiology.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Chung has demonstrated a commitment to education, advocacy and service. During his training, he served as a resident representative for the American College of Radiology Radiology Advocacy Network and was involved with the Society of Interventional Radiology’s Medical Student Council. He has also volunteered with community organizations serving underserved populations and families in need.
Dr. Chung speaks English and advanced Cantonese. Outside of medicine, he enjoys weightlifting and exercise, music, watches, cars, computers, video games, basketball, soccer and origami.
