FAIRFAX, Va., December 2025 — Fairfax Radiology is pleased to announce that Andy Tu, MD, has joined the practice’s Vascular and Interventional Radiology team, further supporting FRC’s mission to provide compassionate, patient-centered care and expanded access to advanced, minimally invasive treatments across Northern Virginia.
Dr. Tu joins FRC from the University of Illinois/OSF Saint Francis Medical Center, where he served as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Radiology and co-director of Interventional Radiology operations at Saint Joseph Medical Center. He completed his Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology residency at the University of Illinois/OSF Saint Francis Medical Center, where he held several leadership roles, including chief resident, resident council representative, and quality and safety representative.
“At FRC, our mission has always been about seeing and serving the whole patient, not just the image,” said Worth Saunders, Chief Executive Officer of Fairfax Radiological Consultants, PLLC. “Dr. Tu’s approach to care reflects our values of compassion, collaboration, and accountability to the communities we serve. His work in interventional radiology supports our vision of expanding access to minimally invasive treatments that truly make a difference in patients’ lives.”
Dr. Tu earned his medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine, graduating in the top quartile of his class. He received his Bachelor of Science in Biology, with a minor in Chemistry, from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, graduating summa cum laude.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Tu has contributed to research and scholarly activity in interventional radiology, with publications and presentations focused on vascular interventions, thrombosis treatment, and image-guided procedures.
“What drew me to FRC is its clear commitment to patient-centered care and meaningful community service,” Dr. Tu said. “This is a practice that truly sees its patients as individuals, and I’m excited to be part of a team that pairs advanced interventional care with a strong sense of responsibility to the people and communities it serves.”
Dr. Tu will provide a full range of vascular and interventional radiology services, supporting FRC’s continued growth while maintaining a strong focus on quality, access, and community-based care.
