Fairfax Radiology Welcomes Adrian J. Mora, MD, to Its Overnight Emergency Radiology Team

FAIRFAX, Va., July 2025 — Fairfax Radiology (FRC), the largest radiology practice in the Washington, D.C., region, announced the addition of Adrian J. Mora, MD, a board-certified diagnostic radiologist with extensive military, academic and clinical experience. Dr. Mora joins FRC’s Overnight Emergency Radiology team, supporting the practice’s commitment to delivering high-quality, around-the-clock imaging services for patients across Northern Virginia.

Dr. Mora brings more than a decade of radiology expertise through service at major military medical centers, teleradiology groups and private practices nationwide. He completed his medical degree at the Yale University School of Medicine after earning a Bachelor of Science in chemistry, with merit, from the United States Naval Academy. He went on to complete both his transitional internship and radiology residency at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth, where he later served as a staff radiologist and residency faculty member.

Throughout his career, Dr. Mora has held key leadership roles, including Division Chief of Radiography at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, Director for Force Development at Naval Medical Readiness Training Command, and Radiology Liaison for Guantánamo Bay. He also served as a division radiologist aboard the USNS Comfort during the 2018 Enduring Promise Humanitarian Mission.

Dr. Mora was an Assistant Professor of Radiology and Radiological Sciences at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences. He holds multiple active state medical licenses and is certified by the American Board of Radiology, with additional Level II certification in cardiac CT. His publication and research experience spans gastrointestinal imaging, prenatal ultrasound outcomes, craniosynostosis screening, pulmonary imaging and MRI evaluation protocols.

Dr. Mora was raised in Quito, Ecuador and then in Lakeland, FL, and is fluent in Spanish. Outside of medicine, he enjoys traveling, sports, exercising, and spending time with his family.
