One in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime, according to National Breast Cancer Foundation.
During October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Fairfax Radiology Centers (FRC) encourages women to learn about the potentially life-saving benefits of having an annual mammogram.
FRC is the largest subspecialty radiology practice in Northern Virginia, with approximately 20 radiologists dedicated to solely breast imaging.
“My physician colleagues and I have seen hundreds of thousands of mammograms,” said Elise Berman M.D., Medical Director Breast Imaging services for FRC. “We know they save lives.”
“We want to find cancer before you can feel it because the earlier cancer is detected, the easier it is to treat,” said Dr. Berman. “Do not delay getting a mammogram.”
