Fairfax Radiology Expands Expertise and Service Area with Acquisition of Association of Alexandria Radiologists

Nov. 14, 2023 | Fairfax, VA -- Fairfax Radiology Centers, LLC, (FRC) has acquired Association of Alexandria Radiologists (AAR), which includes two outpatient imaging centers.

Additionally, FRC, PLLC, has acquired AAR’s professional services and will expand to provide a single standard of care for the entire Inova System, and will provide FRC with more than 15 additional physicians. This strategic acquisition marks a major milestone for FRC and strengthens the company’s position as the area’s largest subspecialty radiology group.

FRC CEO Lance Boyd stated, “We are delighted to welcome AAR to the FRC family. This move will enhance our core service and expand our share in the Northern Virginia radiology market.”

The acquisition will provide FRC with two additional locations to serve patients in Virginia, one in Woodbridge and one in Alexandria, bringing the total number of FRC locations to 20. The majority of AAR’s employees will remain employed by FRC.

“The health care community, and more important, the patients we serve, will benefit by our joining forces,” Boyd said. “With the acquisition, FRC will have more than 115 highly trained radiologists to seamlessly serve area hospitals and referring physicians.”

As part of the acquisition, AAR will become part of FRC, and will use the FRC brand. The acquisition will be effective January 2024.
