Ultrasound Overview

What is an Ultrasound?

Whether it is used to get an early glimpse of your unborn baby or help evaluate the cause of muscle or joint pain, an Ultrasound is a simple procedure that uses high-frequency sound waves to create an image of the tissues inside your body. Ultrasound may be used for a variety of screening and diagnostic reasons and, often times, may be used in conjunction with other imaging tests to get a more complete picture of what is going on inside the body. At Fairfax Radiology, we offer high-resolution Ultrasound, as well as standard and color Doppler capabilities that allow us to determine the flow of blood through the vessels.

My appointment at Fairfax Radiology was very impressive. Checking in and completing paperwork happened almost immediately. I was called back right away and left just a few minutes after my scheduled appointment time. The office staff was efficient and pleasant and the ultrasound tech was very professional and courteous. It was evident that this is a patient-centered facility. Overall, I couldn't believe how well this appointment went. Major kudos to your staff- I wish more offices were like this one!
