Nuclear Medicine

Nuclear Medicine Overview

What Is Nuclear Medicine?

Nuclear Medicine is a specialized imaging technology that uses small amounts of radioactive material called radiotracers or radioisotopes to capture the molecular activity of various organs and systems of the body, allowing us to diagnose and treat many conditions in their earliest stages.

At Fairfax Radiology, we provide a full array of studies, including bone, renal, lung scans, Thyroid and SPECT (Single-Photon Emission Computed Tomography) imaging, as well as any confirming imaging tests (X-rays) to provide a complete picture of any conditions.
