Pediatric Radiology Services
Pediatric radiologists are now available at our Reston office on Wednesdays. Extended hours also available to accommodate your schedule.
Fairfax Radiology is staffed with 4 pediatric radiologists, specially trained to interpret exams for pediatric patients.
FRC provides more sub-specialty trained and board certified pediatric radiologists than any other radiology practice in Northern Virginia, as well as specialists in neurologic, cardiac, and musculoskeletal imaging. These specialized radiologists bring extensive knowledge and understanding of pediatric anatomy and disease.
Many pediatric exams are performed in our outpatient imaging centers. General diagnostic x-rays of children, like chest x-rays or plain x-rays of the extremities (arm or leg) can be performed as a walk-in procedure at any location that performs those services. See the services grid for more information. Some specialize exams like a Nuclear Medicine “Milk” Scan or an ultrasound or CT of the abdomen may be performed on an “older” child when the patient is able to cooperate during the procedure. Contact our Patient Scheduling Office at 703-698-4488 to discuss your child’s imaging needs.
Pediatric patients who require specialized imaging, like CT, MRI with sedation, or fluoroscopy must obtain the exam in a hospital environment under the supervision of our pediatric radiologists. For your convenience, FRC’s pediatric radiologists are available at Inova Fairfax Hospital for Children, Inova Loudoun Hospital and Inova Fair Oaks Hospital.
