"Every Day is Breast Cancer Awareness Day at Fairfax Radiology."
Exam Preparation and Process
Why do I need extra views?
The radiologist may see an area has changed since a prior mammogram or that is not completely normal appearing and needs special images that are different from the
standard screening views.
What are extra views?
There are different views, angles and magnification factors that are used for
mammography images. We use only 2 of them for screening views and the radiologist
will use the other views to help solve questions raised by the screening study.
How do I get additional views scheduled?
Our staff will make that appointment for you when we call to advise you that additional
images are necessary. Or, if you receive your results on-line sooner, there will be
instructions available for scheduling.
Where can I have these extra views done?
Three of our offices in Northern Virginia have dedicated breast radiologists where you
can have your additional views
